Actually Gay Men’s Chorus
Set up in 2005 as the ‘Brighton & Hove (actually) Gay Men’s Chorus with the specific aim of providing a place where gay men could socialise, have fun, develop their vocal skills in a unique environment, and perform to the public while raising money for charity.
Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus
First established in 2005, BrightonGMC now has around 90 members and stages at least three main shows a year, usually during the Fringe Festival, Brighton Pride and at Christmas. The Chorus is proud to once again be producing this year’s World Aids Day Concert.
The Rainbow Chorus
Based in Brighton & Hove, The Rainbow Chorus is the South’s only non-audition LGBT choir, celebrating diversity through music. Inspired by our talented MD, Aneesa Chaudhry, we have a great time singing and performing a wide range of musical genres to a high standard. We welcome new members.
Resound Male Voices
Resound Male Voices is a male voice ensemble that performs a diverse repertoire and aspires to present audiences with quirky, witty and humorous performances. Resound Male Voices is a vibrant choir that works to develop themselves vocally – both as individuals and as a group.
Qukulele
Brighton-based Qukulele love performing any song that makes people happy, especially if they can mash it up into another! Layered harmonies, ukulele pluckin’ and strummin’ are delivered from a sea of Hawaiian shirts! “Qukulele, the ukulele band who bring a smile to everyone’s face.”
The Charity
Lunch Positive
All performers give their time free of charge, and all profit from the sale of tickets, as well as refreshments, a raffle and a bucket collection on the night, will be donated to Lunch Positive.
Lunch Positive is a community based HIV charity that provides a wide range of services. These include the weekly Friday HIV Lunch Club and Tuesday support Drop-In, befriending and buddying scheme, wellbeing projects, specialised help from an HIV support worker, advice and information, food bank and home outreach. These address many serious challenges in life, including social isolation and loneliness, poor health and financial disadvantage. Services are provided by an amazing team of volunteers, recently awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The charity provides the largest regular group support for people living with HIV locally, along with 1-1 and smaller group support for people who benefit from this. People using Lunch Positive describe it as an essential lifeline.
The charity is supporting growing numbers of people, and more than ever needs help from the community to raise funds.

The Venue
Church of St. Mary The Virgin
This year’s World AIDS Day Concert will once again be held in the beautiful Church of St. Mary The Virgin in St. James St, Kemptown – just a short 2 minute walk from the Aids Memorial.

Doors open 7.00pm, concert starts at 7.30.
The concert is timed to begin after the Vigil and the Reading of the Names at 6pm at the Aids Memorial.
